Thomas Johnson (politician, 1812)

Thomas Johnson (born July 4, 1812 in Montgomery County , Kentucky , † April 7, 1906 Mount Sterling , Kentucky) was an American politician from the 19th century .

Johnson represented his home state in the Provisional Confederate Congress between 1861 and 1862 . He also served as a Colonel in the Confederate States Army during the Civil War . After the war he was elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives in 1876 , where he remained until 1877. He then served in the Kentucky Senate from 1878 to 1882 .
