Thomas Lehmen

Thomas Lehmen (* 1963 in Oberhausen ) is a German choreographer and dancer.

Life

From 1986 to 1990 he studied at the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam . He then lived in Berlin until July 2010. Here he developed numerous solos, group pieces and projects: u. a. "No distance", "mono subjects", "writing", "It's better to ...", "Lehmen learns". Thomas Lehmen has lived in Dinslaken since 2011 and produced the pieces "Scrap yard" and "Please ...". His work is performed worldwide.

layout

The approaches, which often contain linguistic elements, have conceptual methods and forms of representation. In the dance component he works u. a. with interrelations of the dancers and dance-like dialogues. He taught at universities e.g. B. in Amsterdam, Hamburg, Berlin, Reykjavík, Jakarta, Gießen, Arizona State University and gives workshops on an international level. In his teaching activities he works, among other things, with the above topics of his, as well as with choreographic systems that aim at an individual artistic design within social contexts.
