Thomas Orlando Lyttelton, 3rd Viscount Chandos (* 12. February 1953 ) is a British politician of the Labor Party and Peer .

life and career

He attended Eton College and took his degree in 1974 at Worcester College of Oxford University .

At Kleinwort Benson , he was Director of Finance from 1985 to 1993. Since 1994 he has been executive director of Botts & Co . From 2000 to 2010 was Chandos Chairman ( Chairman ) of the Capital and Regional Properties plc , where he from 1993 to 2010, non-executive director. He was chairman of The Television Corporation from 2004 to 2006 . He has been a Non-Executive Director at Lopex since 1993 . From 1994 to 1996 he was at Chrysalis Group plc . He is also director of the Social Market Foundation .

Previously, he was Governor of the National Film and TV School and was a member of the General Advisory Council of the Independent Broadcasting Authority . He is a director of Easter Holdings Ltd , Invista European Real Estate Trust SICAF , New Ink Media Limited , Northbridge UK Ltd , Northbridge Management Ltd , Real Estate Credit Investments Limited (previously Queen's Walk Investment Limited), RSMB Television Research Ltd , Scopetime Limited , Splash Media Limited and zone Ltd .

Membership in the House of Lords

When his father died in 1980, he inherited the title Viscount Chandos, of Aldershot in the County of Southampton ( Peerage of the United Kingdom ) and the associated seat in the House of Lords . After the House of Lords Act 1999 he lost his seat, but was given the title of Baron Lyttelton of Aldershot , of Aldershot in the County of Hampshire as a Life Peer in 2000 and thus again a seat in the House of Lords.

From 2003 to 2006 he was a member of the Works of Art Committee, the EU Sub-Committee A - Economic and Financial Affairs, and from 1985 to 1986 International Trade .

He has been married to Arabella Sarah Lucy Bailey since 1985 and has two sons and a daughter with her.
