Thomas Norwood is a former American basketball player who was active in the basketball division .

career

Norwood studied and played from 1975 to 1977 at Houston Baptist University  (US state Texas ). In his final season 76/77, the two-meter-tall winger achieved double-digit averages in the points and rebounds categories: He came to 16.4 points and collected 10.2 rebounds per encounter.

Norwood played as a professional in the German Bundesliga for the BC Giants Osnabrück, in 1982 he moved from Lower Saxony to the second division USC Heidelberg , with whom he celebrated promotion to the first division in the spring of 1983. In the promotion season, Norwood was the best thrower in the 2nd South Basketball League with a points average of 25.9 . In the game year 1983-84 he carried the USC-Shirt in the highest German league and also gave his commitment for the 1984/85 season, which he then but withdrew and moved to Bundesliga rivals Leverkusen, the first time under the name of TSV Bayer 04 aground . However, Heidelberg and Leverkusen did not agree on the change conditions, Norwood was suspended and therefore did not play for the Rhinelander until the end of the season.

He later played in Berlin and then from 1988 to 1993 for SSV Ulm in the Bundesliga. Overall, Norwood scored 2327 points during his Bundesliga career.

After his playing career, he stayed in the region, worked as a caretaker and remained involved in basketball as a coach for TSG Söflingen in 1864.
