Thomas Pellow
Thomas Pellow (* 1704 in Cornwall ; †) was an Englishman who, as a "white man", spent almost 23 years as a slave in northern Africa .
Life
Pellow was captured by corsairs in 1716 at the age of eleven, along with 51 other people who traveled with the ship "Francis" . Then he had to build under Mulai Ismail on his palace in Meknes .
In 1738, with the help of an Irish captain, he managed to escape across the Strait of Gibraltar to Penryn , Cornwall.
