Thomas Pill (born June 21, 1980 in Augsburg ) is a German film director and film actor from the field of independent films .

Life

When he was in his early twenties, genre fan Thomas Pill watched the Ittenbach film “ Premutos - The Fallen Angel ”, which made a lasting impression on him with its handmade effects. A few years later, Pill was allowed to take part as an extra in the Ittenbach film and crowdfunding project “Legend of Hell”. He later had a major appearance in his " Savage Love ", where he also met actor Dustin Semmelrogge . He was able to convince him of his script for “The Cold Dish”, a film project designed as a short film, in which Semmelrogge then approved. Eva Habermann and Giulia Siegel were also there. Between 2011 and 2015 this film, which was kept small with a single-lens reflex camera, was shot, continuously expanded and rewritten. Ittenbach even took on a friendly guest role as a pub owner. The distribution of Pills Debut took place in 2016 via SchröderMedia, but in a version censored in Germany. In between, Pill directed the short film "Jealousy" with Eva Habermann , Dave Kaufmann and Raphael Stark , which later ran at several festivals.

In 2013 Pill took a course in “Filmmaking and Directing” at the Munich Film Academy and an acting workshop at the ISSA in Munich. In 2015 he founded his film production "Wizzard Movie Entertainment". In 2016 he shot the pre-financed “Alice - The Darkest Hour” together with Michael Effenberger. For Alice, he was able to hire renowned actors with Claude Oliver Rudolf, Sven Martinek, Anouscka Renzi, Eva Mähl and Helmut Krauss. With limited resources and a small budget, Pill tries to advance and implement his projects. In 2018 Thomas Pill shot the feature film "Stories of the dead" again with Eva Habermann and Giulia Siegel as well as Ralf Richter, Florian Simbeck and Alfonso Losa. The film project "Grimms Kinder", alternative title "Boten des Todes", an episodic horror film that will continue to be produced in 2020, is a lengthy project that began in 2014 and is controversial in the scene.

Pill lives and works in Augsburg. He is the father of one child whose godfather is his friend director Michael Effenberger (La Isla).
