Thomas Randolph, 2nd Earl of Moray

Thomas Randolph, 2nd Earl of Moray (* before 1306; † August 11, 1332 near Perth ) was a Scottish nobleman and military.

Thomas Randolph was the eldest son of Thomas Randolph, 1st Earl of Moray and his wife Isabel Stewart . His father was a loyal supporter and the closest confidante of the Scottish King Robert I. After his death in 1329, his father took over the reign of the underage King David II as Guardian .

He was knighted in 1331 . When his father died in July 1332, Thomas inherited the title of Earl of Moray and his father's estates. A group of English nobles led by Henry de Beaumont and Edward Balliol , who raised claims to Scottish possessions, wanted to take advantage of the change in government to enforce their claims by force. They landed in Scotland with an army in August, whereupon the new Guardian, the Earl of Mar, met them with an army. Moray was one of the leaders of this army, which suffered a crushing defeat in the battle of Dupplin Moor against the so-called disinherited . He fell in battle. His heir became his younger brother John .
