Thomas Sparr

Thomas Sparr (born June 23, 1956 in Hamburg ) is a German literary scholar and, together with Ulla Unseld-Berkéwicz and Jonathan Landgrebe, managing director of Suhrkamp Verlag and Insel Verlag, which has been part of Suhrkamp since 1963 .

Thomas Sparr studied literature and philosophy, he had lectureships at the University of Hamburg and at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem . From 1990 to 1998 he headed the Jewish publishing house , was then chief editor of the Siedler publishing house and from 2006 until the transformation of the publishing house into a stock corporation at the beginning of 2015 he was the deputy publishing director of the Suhrkamp publishing house. In addition, he is authorized to represent the board of the Literaturbrücke e. V., the sponsoring association of the House of Poetry in Berlin.
