Thomas Stafford (politician)

Thomas Stafford (* in Gorey , County Wexford ; † January 28, 1995 ) was an Irish politician of the Fianna Fáil . From 1955 to 1979 he was a member of the Dublin City Council ( Dublin Corporation ) and as such held the office of Lord Mayor of Dublin from 1967 to 1968. In 1969 he joined the Fianna Fáil.

Stafford came to Dublin at the age of 15. He later started the funeral home T Stafford & Sons in North Strand .

He was married and had eight children. Two of his five sons, Tom and John Stafford , later also belonged to the Dublin City Council, with John holding the office of Lord Mayor from 1997 to 1998 like his father.

Thomas Stafford died in January 1995 at the age of 79.
