Thomas Stehle (born October 26, 1980 in Überlingen ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Stehle began his career at Rot-Weiß Salem (1992–1996) and SC Pfullendorf (1996–2001). In 2001 he moved to 1. FC Nürnberg , for which he played a total of 29 games in the first division until 2004. He scored two goals, both in the game against TSV 1860 Munich in the 2002/03 season. In the 03/04 season, 25 games for the club in league two followed with two more goals.

Stehle has been under contract with Alemannia Aachen since the 2004/05 season , with whom he was promoted to the first Bundesliga in the 2005/06 season . After a year in the Bundesliga, in which he made 19 appearances and one goal, he was directly relegated and finally a sporty decline to the Regionalliga, where Stehle ended his active career in July 2013.

The defender, who played at Alemannia with the shirt number 17, is nicknamed "the ax" because of his uncompromising defensive work.
