Thomas Vincent Commins

Thomas Vincent Commins (born October 3, 1913 in Ballymoreen , Ireland , † 1985 ) was an Irish diplomat.

Life

Commins joined the diplomatic service in 1946 and worked at the Irish Embassy in Washington, DC until 1948 . Commins now returned to Ireland and worked for the Irish Foreign Office in Dublin for the next six years . From 1954 to 1955 he was consul at the Irish Embassy in Paris . Afterwards he was chargé d' affaires in the embassy in Lisbon in 1955 . In his further diplomatic career, Commins was, among other things, the Irish envoy to Argentina from 1959 to 1960 , ambassador to Italy from 1960 to 1962 , then from 1962 to 1966 ambassador to the Holy See , and from 1966 to 1970 ambassador to France and from 1970 to 1974 again Ambassador to the Holy See .
