Thomas Vogel (educational scientist)

Thomas Vogel (* 1959 ) is a professor of educational science with a focus on school education / vocational education at the University of Education Heidelberg .

Life

Vogel studied educational science, politics and color technology for the "teaching post at vocational schools" at the University of Hanover . After legal clerkship and the second state examination, he worked for several years as a vocational school teacher at various vocational schools as well as a lecturer in professional training and deputy chairman of master craftsmen's examination committees at the Chamber of Crafts Lüneburg-Stade.

From 1996 to 2001 he was a research assistant at the chair for vocational and work education at the Helmut Schmidt University (University of the Federal Armed Forces) in Hamburg. In 2000 he received his doctorate for his work on the knowledge of nature and cultivation of nature in industrial and technical vocational training .

He then became director of studies in teacher training at the Stade study seminar. In 2010 he completed his habilitation at the Helmut Schmidt University on the subject of the theory of natural vocational training - social natural crisis and vocational training in the context of critical theory .

He was a lecturer at various universities ( Flensburg , Hamburg-Harburg and at the Helmut Schmidt University). He is also a reviewer for the accreditation of Bachelor and Master degree programs and a member of the German Society for Educational Science .

Since 2011 he has been a professor of educational science with a focus on school / professional education at the Heidelberg University of Education.
