Thomas Wapp
Thomas Wapp (born January 29, 1972 ) is a former Swiss badminton player .
Athletic career
Wapp won seven junior titles in Switzerland from 1987 to 1992. During his junior years he also secured his first adult title in 1990. From 1993 to 2001 he won nine individual titles in a row. Five double titles complete his track record. Internationally he won 1998 in Slovakia. At the World University Championships he was vice world champion in doubles with Matthey de I'Etang in 1994 and in singles in 1996. In 1998 there were two more bronze medals in both disciplines. In 1996 he took part in the Olympic Games and was 17 in both singles and mixed with Santi Wibowo .
Wapp's attempt at comeback in the Swiss league after a two-year break ended in 2007 with a partial torn off of the Achilles tendon.
