Thomas Winter (polo player)

Thomas Winter (born December 21, 1968 in Dar es Salaam / Tanzania ) is Germany's best polo player with a handicap of +3 (as of 2020).

Winter is a professional polo player and one of the few Germans who have completed an instructor grade I training course in Great Britain - a qualification that is approved by the Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA) and that legitimizes teaching and training players.

Thomas Winter runs a polo school in Hamburg.

Thomas Winter has achieved many successes in all three divisions (low goal, medium goal, high goal). At the second European Polo Championships in 1995 in Antwerp (Belgium), he was Vice European Champion with the German team and was captain of the German national team. In 2003 he became world champion in elephant polo . He is 2nd Vice President of the German Polo Association (DPV) and also sports advisor to Polo +10 , the magazine of the German Polo Association.
