Faiz Mangat

Faiz-Kevin Mangat (born August 29, 1980 in Cologne ) is a Kenyan pop singer. He became known in 2001 as the singer of the group Bro'Sis .

Life

Mangat formed together with Hila Bronstein , Shaham Joyce , Ross Antony , Giovanni Zarrella and Verena "Indira" Weis the band Bro'Sis , which emerged from the second season of the casting show Popstars . They were the successor to the No Angels .

He has Kenyan citizenship, attended business school and began an apprenticeship as a retail salesman, which he broke off a little later. He only just failed in basketball because he was accepted into the German national youth team. As DJ Seven, Mangat was one of the hottest young turntables in the greater Bonn area. "I realized that it would be my biggest and maybe last chance so far to gain a foothold in the music business."

In 2004 Mangat lent his voice to the jellyfish Ernie for the animated film Big Sharks - Small Fish . He also took over the moderation of the “Chart Show - powered by McDonald's” on ProSieben, replacing Andreas Türck .

In May 2005 his first solo single Dance Little Sister was released , a cover song by Terence Trent D'Arby , which did not make it into the charts. A solo album announced for fall 2005 never came out.

After the last joint appearance by Bro'Sis in August 2005, Mangat played temporarily and permanently in various cover bands such as the Aschaffenburg cover band "Waterproof" where Tertia Botha from the Preluders and Bonita J. Louw also sing. He also appeared as a guest singer with the Heidelberg band "Shebeen" and as part of the ensemble "Die Dicken Kinder" and has performed various solo appearances and DJ gigs. He also gives singing lessons for various artists, such as the band Part Six and the DSDS candidate Lauren Talbot.

On August 24, 2007, Mangat's second solo single, Du redest im Schlaf, was released with his new band “7 Faces”. On September 7, 2007 the album Die recurrenden Leiden of the young Tim W. Lötze followed .

In August 2007, Mangat was the background singer for Sabrina Setlur on the RTL 2 program “ The Dome 43 ” . In November 2007 he sang the German national anthem at a Euroleague basketball game of the German champions Brose Baskets .

In 2009 "7 Faces" were featured on the CD A Tribute to Die Fantastischen Vier with the song Sommerregen . He is also a drummer in the bands Seelentaucher and Superstitious . Another project is the cover band Living Music Family , which consists of around 20 full-time musicians in a changing line-up.

In addition, Mangat sings every Thursday in the King Kamehameha Club in Frankfurt in the “KingKa House Band” and in Cologne at the after-work party “cologne after 7” in the “Fifty-one” lounge.

In 2012 Mangat covered the song My Girl for a commercial for Kinder-Schokolade . Mangat also supported Moses Pelham with the studio recordings for his album Geiles Leid III and accompanied Pelham as a background singer on his Geiles Leid III tour in early 2013 . In April 2015 Mangat released his solo album Liebe & Bass . With the extremely difficult - My path to a new life candidate Burak, Mangat released the single Meine 1 .
