Never Forget (Where You Come From) ( English for Never forget where you came from ) is the debut album of the German R & B band Bro'Sis .
background
Never Forget (Where You Come From) was released on January 21, 2002 on Cheyenne Records. It was mainly produced by Toni Cottura , with producers including Alex Christensen , Marc Mozart and Syndicate Music. The album topped the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and produced five singles, including the number 1 hit I Believe .
I Believe was produced by Alex Christensen ( U 96 ) and written by the English songwriter Clyde Ward. The single climbed to number one in the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and sold 800,000 times in the first week alone. While I Believe was able to place itself at the top of the German single charts for another three weeks, the single landed at number four in the European Top 100. In Germany the band got three gold and two platinum for I Believe (1.5 million CDs sold). This made the debut single the most successful newcomer release to date. Due to the great interest in the band, Never Forget brought out two more top 10 hits with the double-A single Do You / Peace of Soul (February 2002) and Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel (June 2002). The band presented their fourth single Hot Temptation at Popkomm . In October 2002 the single reached number four in the German charts. The single also contained the Cat Stevens cover In the Cradle .
A special winter edition of the album was released in November of the same year. The new release included Hot Temptation, the next single The Gift , a cover of the song of the same name by 98 Degrees . For every single sold, Bro'Sis supported the reconstruction of the Christian youth welfare organization in Pirna, which was destroyed in the 2002 flood, with 25 cents . Also appeared Your Special Christmas Edition - The Gift that personal Christmas wishes and new versions and remixes contained various album songs. The Gift became the band's first commercial failure, as the single only made it to number 16 in the charts in Germany and failed to make it into the top 100 in Switzerland.
The photos for the album cover were taken by photographer Benjamin Wolf in Munich's Kunstpark Ost entertainment district .
Overall, the album, together with a limited tour edition and a special winter edition, was able to sell more than 500,000 times in Germany. With 38 weeks in the German Top 100, as well as a platinum and a gold award, the album landed on number 11 of the most successful albums in 2002. In Austria there were 2 times for the album.
Criticism and reception
Overall, the album received very mixed reviews, which was also due to the fact that the band Bro'Sis was the second artist to be cast on German television. That was the verdict of laut.de. Cheap nineties boy band sound
