Alex Christensen (born April 7, 1967 in Hamburg ), also known as Jasper Forks or Alex C. , is a German composer , music producer and DJ . He had his first big success with the music project U96 .

Alex Christensen grew up in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg and initially trained as a freight forwarder . In 1987 he released his first production, Drums in Your House . In 1990 the then DJ wrote the title Ritmo de la Noche with the Chocolate project , for which Verona Feldbusch sang the lyrics. He received his first gold record for the piece . With the music project U 96 and the single Das Boot , he made it to number 1 on the sales charts in Germany in 1991. Several other singles with U 96 followed.

In 1994 he and Frank Peterson produced the album Life in the Streets for Prince Ital Joe feat. Marky Mark . The first top ten single was Happy People , followed by the number 1 hit United . Christensen produced the song No Mercy for Marky Mark in 1995 . The R'n'G project was produced from 1997 to 1999. In 2005 the latter came back again with the single Radio Heartbeat and in 2006 with the double single I'm in Love / Ochie Walla from the album Generations . 1998 appeared under the pseudonym DJ Xela Es gehtangs '98 as well as the project "Löwenherz" with the songs Bis in die Ewigkeit and La Luna . In 1999 u. a. among the projects E-Cyas Are u Real? as well as Rockstar Du hast (a techno-style cover version of a Rammstein song from 1997). In 1999 Christensen published the title Dear Jessie , a cover version of Madonna's song from 1989 under the project name Rollergirl . In 2000, Marianne Rosenberg produced the single Wieder Da from the album Heavenly .

Christensen became known in German-speaking countries through his participation in the casting series Popstars 2001, in which he was responsible as an author and producer for the number 1 hit I Believe by the band Bro'Sis . Since 2002, he also published pieces under the name Alex C . In 2002, Yasmin K. (now Yass ) released the debut single Rhythm of the Night (a cover version of Corona from 1995), in the same year Amigos Forever and a year later Angel of Darkness , which the song was for was the computer game from Tomb Raider . The Fource project followed, including the song Wouldn't it be Nice (a cover version of a Beach Boys title). The single You're my Angel was also released for B3. In 2003 and 2004 he produced three singles for Natasha Thomas. Christensen has also worked as a producer and composer for Right Said Fred , Tom Jones , * NSYNC , Oli.P , Marianne Rosenberg , Sarah Brightman , ATC , Rollergirl (Nicole Safft), Prince Ital Joe feat. Marky Mark (Mark Wahlberg) and others. He produced Paul Anka's album Rock Swings album and published in May 2006 Bolton Swings Sinatra by Michael Bolton .

In 2007, after leaving U 96, he achieved the production sung by Yass You have the most beautiful ass in the world , this time again as Alex C. feat. Y-ass, number 1 in the German charts. In January 2008, three more singles from the album Euphorie were released again in collaboration with Yass . On May 17, 2008, Fady Maalouf presented the song Blessed, produced by Christensen, as part of the series Deutschland sucht den Superstar . Christensen also produced Maalouf's debut album Blessed .

Alex Swings Oscar Sings!

On May 16, 2009, together with the singer Oscar Loya , he represented Alex Swings as a musical duo for Oscar Sings! Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow , but only reached 20th place among the 24 participants in the final round. In the eighth season of Popstars , Alex Christensen was again a member of the jury after 2001. In December 2009 he released the single Dancing is Like Heaven as Alex C. feat. Y-ass out. Since 2010 he has also been working under the name Jasper Forks . His greatest success so far was in 2010 with an interpretation of the title River Flows in You by Yiruma ; the single reached number 45.

In 2012 Christensen took on a supporting role in the movie Fraktus - The Last Chapter in Music History . Also in 2012 the single Alex C. feat. Francisco Love in the Morning (My Sex.OS) , in the same year L'amour toujours , a cover version of the song of the same name by Gigi D'Agostino from 2001, as a single; the recording - again as Alex C. - this time together with Yass & Ski. In November 2015, the album he produced for Helene Fischer Christmas came out. It was recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London's Abbey Road Studios . In October 2017 the album Classical 90s Dance was released with the Berlin Orchestra , in 2018 and 2019 a second and third part respectively.

Private

Alex Christensen lives in Hamburg and Mallorca and is married to the former singer Nicole Safft . They have one son (* 2003).
