biography

Nicole Safft, who has worked in a roller skating club since she was a child , was discovered by German producer Alex Christensen on Mallorca and hired to do test shoots. He first produced E-Cyas Are U Real? With her as a singer in 1999 , then the song Dear Jessie , a cover version of the 1989 hit Madonna of the same name , with which she achieved first successes, especially in the UK as the opening song of a techno parade . There she performed under the pseudonym Nicci Juice. The name of her project, Rollergirl , was inspired by Heather Graham's role as a naive young porn actress in the movie Boogie Nights . At first Safft didn't want to appear in the music videos, so there are two versions of Dear Jessie . It was followed by the Sunscreem - Cover Luv U More , the earlier in Italy had been published, and the Bangles -Cover Eternal Flame . In 2000 their first album Now I'm Singin '… And The Party Keeps On Rollin' came out, in Denmark the single You Make Me Feel Like Dancing was released . Their next single, the disco hit Superstar , was released in 2001 on a revised version of their album. The next single, Close To You, followed in the same year, and Geisha Dreams in 2002 . Since then, no more records have been released under the name Rollergirl.

Nicole Safft also worked alongside Daniel Hartwig as a presenter for the RTL II programs The Dome and Megaman 2002 .

Safft is married to her former producer Alex Christensen and has one son.

Others

The “Rollergirl” project originally started with Julie Pecquet as her face. She was only seen in the Dear Jessie video and on her first public TV appearances. The voice came from Safft, who did not initially feel called to go on stage. In the same year, however, Pecquet was replaced by Safft. There are two versions of the Dear Jessie video for this reason :

  • Nightclub version (with Julie Pecquet)
  • Pool party version (with Nicole Safft alias Nicci Juice)
