In his best-known pieces River Flows in You , May Be and Kiss the Rain , the artist uses simple and catchy harmonies . His works can thus be assigned to popular classical music or easy listening .
The title River Flows in You was first published in 2001, but it was not until much later that fans of the Twilight saga chose it as a favorite for the backdrop to a romantic scene from the book adaptation of Twilight , in which the vampire Edward his lover Bella plays a melody on the piano. Apparently it was also considered by the producers before settling on a cheaper recomposition of Bella's Lullaby . As a result, several compilations of film images appeared on YouTube, which were accompanied by Yiruma's melody and made his song very popular. A dance version by Alex Christensen (Jasper Forks) was also released in Germany in 2010 , but it wasn't until the fourth film in the Twilight saga Breaking Dawn was released at the end of 2011 that the original recording of Yiruma was able to make it onto the charts of German-speaking countries.
