River Flows in You is a composition by the South Korean pianist Yiruma . It was first released in 2001 on his second album First Love .

The song became popular after it was chosen by fans of the Twilight series as a favorite for the background music of a romantic scene in which the vampire Edward plays a melody on the piano to his lover Bella. Apparently the use of the piece was also considered by the producers before they decided on a cheaper new composition of Carter Burwell's Bella's Lullaby . As a result, several compilations of film images appeared on YouTube, which were accompanied by Yiruma's melody.

In 2010 a dance version by Alex Christensen was released under the pseudonym Jasper Forks in Germany. This was able to place itself in the German single charts up to position 45. With the release of the fourth film in the Twilight saga Breaking Dawn at the end of 2011, the original recording of Yiruma also made it into the charts of German-speaking countries. It reached number 20 in Germany.

The band Eisblume used the melody in their title Forever . The composition was able to place itself in the charts a third time within two years.
