Faggiano is a south -east Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3470 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Taranto in Apulia and is located about 13 kilometers southeast of Taranto . The place is part of the Unione dei Comuni di Montedoro . The Murgia also extends into the municipality.

The neighboring municipalities are Pulsano , Roccaforzata , San Giorgio Ionico , Tarento and Lizzano . The fraction of San Crispieri is located about two kilometers south of Faggiano .

Events

• Nativity play in the scenario of the Contrada (district) “La Campana” with over a hundred extras who, in traditional costumes, reproduce scenes of peasant life in the Ionian tradition. The event, organized by the “Associazione per le tradizioni popolari” (Association of Popular Traditions), was the best in 1997/98 and 1998/99 and 2008/09 by the cultural and regional association “Amici dei Presepio delle Madonie e di Sicilia” Italy's nativity play excellent.
