Pulsano (also Puzànu or Pusànu in the Salentine dialect ) is a southern Italian municipality in the province of Taranto in Apulia and is located about 14 kilometers southeast of the city center of Taranto .
Pulsano is one of the communities that have joined together to form the Unione di comuni "Terre del Mare e del Sole" .
The district ( fraction ) Marina di Pulsano is located directly on the Gulf of Taranto on the Ionian Sea , about 4 kilometers south of the city center of Pulsano.
At Marina di Pulsano, above the beach of Lido Silvana, is Torre Castelluccia , a name that denotes both a 16th century tower that was part of a defensive network of 14 coastal towers in this region, and one prehistoric settlement discovered and partially researched near the tower . This existed from the middle Italian Bronze Age to the early Iron Age (approximately from the 15th / 14th century BC to the early 1st millennium BC).
