Monteiasi (in the local dialect: Muntiasi or Muntiase ) is a south- east Italian municipality ( comune ) in the province of Taranto in Apulia . The municipality is located about 12.5 kilometers west-northwest of Taranto .
history
The community was founded in 1786 as a fief of the Ungaro.
traffic
A small section of Strada Statale 7 runs through the municipality via Appia towards Brindisi . A few kilometers to the north-west is the Taranto airport . The Monteiasi- Montemesola train station is on the Taranto – Brindisi railway line .
