O-Town is a boy band that consists of five members Ashley Parker Angel , Jacob Underwood, Erik-Michael Estrada, Dan Miller and Trevor Penick.

Career

The band lives in Orlando , Florida , hence the name "O-Town". They were discovered by Lou Pearlman in 1999 in the casting show Making the Band on the music channel MTV . In 2000 they released their first single, Liquid Dreams , which debuted at number five in the US. This was followed by the songs All or Nothing , We Fit Together and Love Should Be a Crime , which, like Liquid Dreams, come from the first studio album O-Town , which went platinum in the USA . Three titles were written in Germany by producer Nico Mass, among others, and reproduced in front of the camera together with Tony Harrison in his studio in Germany for the broadcaster MTV. In 2002 the album O2 followed , which was postponed several times due to some disagreements between the band and Clive Davis, the boss of their record company. In Germany it bears the title O-Town 2 because it had to be renamed due to the mobile operator O 2 . The album contains more rock songs like From the Damage , Make Her Say or the ballad I Showed Her . Due to disagreements between J Records and O-Town, the band left the label in 2003. After their last public appearance on August 16, 2003, the members announced their separation in November of the same year.

In April 2014, O-Town announced that they would like to make music together again. Only Ashley Parker Angel is not part of the comeback.

Solo projects

Ashley Parker Angel had a reality soap called There and Back on MTV in the USA at the beginning of 2006 , which was also shown on the German music channel VIVA in October . In the same year he released his solo debut Soundtrack to Your Life and the single Let U Go . From January 2007 until the end of 2008 he played the role of "Link Larkin" in the Broadway musical Hairspray . His current project is the remake of Wild Things as "Sam Lombardo".

Jacob Underwood was named Jacob's Loc in 2004 and already released the first EP under this name. The band is now working on a second album in Nashville / TN.

Dan Miller mainly writes and produces music, but also released an EP in 2005 called Slower Than a Gun .

Trevor Penick makes R&B / pop music under the new stage name "Tre Scott".

Erik-Michael Estrada is working on a solo album and is currently making a film (as of August 2009).
