The company Thomson Financial was a provider of information and technology solutions for the global financial industry and one of five companies of The Thomson Corporation . As part of the takeover of the Reuters news agency by the Thomson Group and the establishment of the new Thomson Reuters group , the Reuters divisions were merged with Thomson Financial on April 17, 2008 to form a new company under the name Thomson Reuters Markets .
