SIX Financial Information , based in Zurich, is a Swiss financial data provider and a business unit of the SIX Group . This specializes in the procurement, processing and distribution of international financial information. SIX Financial Information has branches in 20 countries.
SIX Financial Information obtains its data in real time from more than 1500 sources worldwide and covers the most important international stock exchanges. The database includes information on corporate actions ( corporate actions ), evaluations and reference and market data for 16 million financial instruments .
history
SIX Financial Information was founded in 1930 as Ticker AG in Zurich. In the same year, the company began distributing the prices on the Zurich Stock Exchange .
In 2008, the merger of the Telekurs Group with the Swiss Exchange and SEGA Intersettle led to the establishment of the SIX Group as the operator of the Swiss financial center infrastructure . In the course of the merger, Telekurs Financial was renamed SIX Telekurs and today forms the financial information division of the SIX Group.
As part of the simplification of the SIX Group's brand structure, SIX Telekurs will be renamed "SIX Financial Information" on April 23, 2012 .

The main product of SIX Financial Information, of the Valor Data Feed (VDF) is a source of reference data and descriptive information and corporate actions ( corporate actions ), and contains over 20 million financial instruments from around 1500 trading venues and data providers. In the area of calculated and evaluated prices, SIX Financial Information offers a number of specific products in this category.
Market data
The market data products from SIX Financial Information are offered in real time or with a delay. The services range from reviews, price data and market data feeds in real time to back office services.
Compliance data
To ensure compliance with legal requirements, SIX offers compliance data and services for compliance with regulatory and tax law requirements: EU directive on the taxation of interest income , EU financial transaction tax, withholding tax and others such as SEC regulation 22c-2, financial market directive (MiFID) and UCITS III and IV. The information on global securities, issuers and regulations are integrated in the Valordata Feed (VDF).

SIX Financial Information participates in the international standardization organizations to define and introduce relevant standards that promote straight-through processing . SIX Financial Information is the official National Numbering Agency (NNA) in Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Belgium and in this role is responsible for issuing securities and ISIN numbers. The company is also a founding member of ANNA and a cooperation partner of the Service Bureau . SIX Financial Information is also a member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the FISD and other working groups. SIX is a SWIFT certified distributor of corporate actions messages in accordance with ISO standard 15022.
Incorrect exchange rate
On January 1, 2019, finance portals such as B. supplies cash.ch with an excessive exchange rate for the euro against the Swiss franc . The error was rectified on the same day, as a spokesman for SIX reported to Blick .
