Thornsgill Beck, Mosedale Beck, and Wolf Crag Site of Special Scientific Interest

The Thornsgill Beck, Mosedale Beck and Wolf Crags Site of Special Scientific Interest is a specially protected nature reserve as a Site of Special Scientific Interest . The place is about 10 km east of Keswick on the north side of Threlkeld Common.

The reserve has existed since 1998 and covers 98.3 hectares. Striking points are the Thornsgill Beck , the Mosedale Beck and the Wolf Crags .

It is of great importance for the exploration of the Quaternary in north-west England. The rock layers give a good insight into the glaciation of the area before the last glacial period .
