The Trout Beck is a watercourse in the Lake District , Cumbria , England . It arises northwest of Dockray from the confluence of Groove Beck , Blake Sike and an unnamed tributary. It flows as Thornsgill Beck in a northerly direction and changes its name south of the hamlet of Troutbeck . Immediately south of the hamlet, the Troutbeck swings 90 degrees to the west. It runs in this direction up to its confluence with the River Glenderamackin .

The Thornsgill Beck as the upper reaches of the Trout Beck forms together with the Mosedale Beck and the Wolf Crags a Site of Special Scientific Interest . The rock of the region shows in an outstanding way traces of the glaciation before the last glacial period in north-west England.
