Thorsten Assmann

Thorsten Aßmann (born January 3, 1962 ) is a German ecologist and professor of ecology at the University of Lüneburg . He is mainly concerned with ground beetles (Carabidae).

Life

Aßmann studied biology in Giessen and Münster from 1981 . In 1988 he received his doctorate on population genetics in Münster . He has completed his habilitation since 2000 and became senior scientific assistant (C2) at the University of Osnabrück . From 2001 he became professor for ecology (especially animal ecology) (C3) at the University of Lüneburg, with a promotion in 2006 (W3).
