Thorsten Petry

Thorsten Petry (* 1976 in Herborn ) is a German economist and professor for corporate management in the Media Management course at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences.

Life

Petry graduated from the Fürst-Johann-Ludwig-Schule in Hadamar in 1995 . From October 1996 to December 2001 he studied business administration at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen, where he also received his PhD in 2006. rer. pole. received his doctorate. Before, during and after his doctorate, he worked as a management consultant. Since September 2009 he has been a professor at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden. There he initially taught strategy, organization and human resource management at the Wiesbaden Business School (WBS) and headed the Bachelor and Master courses in International Management. Since October 2018 he has held a professorship for corporate management in the Media Management course.

His project and research interests focus on the (interfaces of) corporate management functions strategy, organization and personnel management and the consequences of the increasing use of digital technologies and media on these functions. Petry is active here with empirical studies, publications, advice and lectures. He is the author of the books Digital HR, Digital Leadership, Organization, Enterprise 2.0 and Network Strategy. In addition, he publishes in numerous scientific and practice-oriented journals and magazines.

In addition to his work at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, Thorsten Petry works as a consultant, trainer and speaker and teaches the MBA Digital Transformation Management at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.
