Thrymsa
Thrymsa is the numismatic name for the first Anglo-Saxon coins in England from AD 600 onwards. They are modeled Frankish gold coins, which in turn were crude Roman coins. The name is derived from the tremissis , the late antique denomination that became a kind of standard currency during the migration period.
