Thubten Lungrig ( Tib . : thub bstan lung rig ; born May 19, 1957 in Amdo ) is a minister (Tib .: bka 'blon ; "Kalön") of the Tibetan government in exile .

Life

Thubten Lungrig studied at the Central School for Tibetans in Dalhousie in the Chamba District from 1972 to 1981 at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies in Varanasi . In 1981 he completed his studies there with the title Acharya . He then taught Tibetan at the Tibetan Children's Village School in Dharmshala for about eleven years ; later he became director of the Tibetan Children's Village School in Suja . In 1996 Thubten Lungrig was elected deputy and vice-chairman (later chairman) of the Tibetan parliament in exile. In 2001 he was elected MP for his home province of Amdo. He is currently the Kalön for Education, Religion, Culture and Health in the Cabinet of Exile ( Kashag ).
