Thunderhead in Dollywood ( Pigeon Forge , Tennessee , USA ) is a wooden roller coaster manufactured by Great Coasters International , which opened on April 3, 2004 in the new Thunderhead Gap themed area .
Thunderhead is the first roller coaster to have a flyby through the station, meaning part of the route goes through the station.
The track was named after Thunderhead Mountain , a peak near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park .
Trains
Thunderhead owns Millennium Flyer type trains with twelve cars each. The specialty of the Millennium Flyer trains is that they have an open front. Two people (in a row) can be seated in each carriage.
