Thurman Warriner

Thurman Warriner (* 1904 ; † 1974 ) was an English writer.

Life

Warriner appeared in the theater as a child or as a teenager. However, he did not want to make this his profession and was successful in a wide variety of professions; u. a. he worked for a long time on a poultry farm and was also a projectionist. At the beginning of World War II Warriner enlisted in the Royal Air Force and worked there. a. as a mechanic.

After the war ended, Warriner left the army and set up as a freelance writer in 1950. He wrote almost exclusively detective novels and published them in addition to his own name under the pseudonym Simon Troy . He chose Inspector Smith as the protagonist, who is the main character in almost all novels.
