The Thyssen Bridge in Mülheim an der Ruhr is a road bridge. It leads the federal road 223 over the railway tracks of the freight yard Mülheim-Styrum . It is used by tram line 112.

history

The Thyssen Bridge was built in 1909. Following the amendment of the Railway Crossing Act, it was taken over by the city of Mülheim in early 1994.

Tram line 112 just before the bridge. The barrier prevents cars in the tram lane from driving up the bridge.

Despite extensive renovations in 1999 and 2008, there were considerable restrictions on the trafficability by trucks and trams. Analysis of the statics led in 2010 to the decision to build a new bridge next to the old one. The new bridge was completed on November 30, 2018.
