TiCad is a company in Altenstadt (Hessen) that specializes in the manufacture of golf trolleys made of titanium by hand. The manufactory's trolleys have won multiple design awards. The product classic - the TiCad Star - was even recognized as a work of applied art by the Frankfurt am Main regional court for its “transcendent, self-creative intellectual content” . The company is one of the leading manufacturers of electric golf trolleys. The manufactory's slogan is “a perfect trolley”.

Company history

The TiCad company was founded in 1989 after the company's founder developed and built the first well-known trolley made of titanium . Two years later, the TiCad Star, the first golf trolley made of titanium, went into series production. It was presented at ISPO 1991 and exhibited in 2003 as a “product of applied art ” in the Deutsches Museum in Munich. Because it can be folded onto a sports car - trunk size , it was nicknamed "paper clip". The unmistakable, clear design language is the characteristic feature of the TiCad golf trolleys. TiCad produces its nine trolley models exclusively at its location in Altenstadt.

A generation change at shareholder level and in the management took place in 2012/2013 after Björn Hillesheim became managing director and owner. The studied mechanical engineer was previously managing director at the Hymer-Leichtmetallbau Group and in leading positions at YMOS AG and Wagon Automotive. In 2013 the company changed its name to TiCad.

A milestone in the company's history in 2016 was the inclusion in the luxury goods network Meisterkreis Germany, to which TiCad was appointed as the first golf sport article manufacturer. The Meisterkreis represents a culture of excellence, enthusiasm and passion for perfection in Germany.

At the beginning of 2017, TiCad took the next step in its product development and took over the Offenbach-based leather goods manufacturer RIK Lederwaren Richard Kräuter. The takeover of the long-standing business partner was preceded by a three-month transition phase, which was officially declared completed on March 1, 2017. Since then, TiCad has been producing all leather work such as the leather handles for the trolleys in-house. TiCad has worked with RIK Lederwaren since the company was founded, which was founded in Heusenstamm in 1931 by the brothers Peter and Richard Kräuter senior.

Inventions

TiCad is the inventor of the drawbar connection and the swivel joint for golf trolleys. With the help of the swivel joint, the golf trolley can be assembled and disassembled in seconds. The drawbar connection allows adjustment to any body size. In addition, the manufacturer developed a battery for electric golf trolleys which, thanks to its intelligent design, no longer has to be transported as hazardous goods in aircraft .
