Tibor Kozma

Tibor Kozma (born August 14, 1909 in Budapest , Austria-Hungary , † March 24, 1976 ) was an American conductor of Hungarian origin.

Kozma studied at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest until 1931 and at the orchestral school of the Saxon State Orchestra in Dresden until 1933 . In 1941 he went to New York, where he took part in numerous Broadway productions and was a sought-after accompanist. From 1948 to 1957 he was a conductor at the Metropolitan Opera . In 1957 he became a professor at Indiana University Bloomington and conductor of the Indiana University Philharmonic Orchestra .
