Tiburtius of Rome († between 180 and 230 in Rome) was a martyr . The name means " from Tibur (today Tivoli near Rome ) to arise " ( Latin ).

Tiburtius' tomb is in the Via Appia . The legend tells that he, together with his brother Valerianus, the bridegroom of Cecilia , was sentenced to death for his faith. The judge's secretary, Maximus, who had been converted by them, was executed with the brothers.
