from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tick-Tack-Quiz was a 30-minute quiz show with high ratings that was broadcast on ARD from 1958 to 1967 . Fritz Benscher was the moderator . The quiz program produced by Bayerischer Rundfunk was initially shown in the regional programs of the previous evening (1st program) of the individual broadcasters and was included in the main program from October 3, 1964.

The original show ran from 1956 to 1959 in the US under the title " Tic Tac Dough " (with Jack Barry).

procedure

Two candidates (X - the champion and O - the challenger) were playing for a jackpot. On the square playing field there were nine fields, to which question categories were assigned. One of the candidates took turns choosing a category. If he was able to answer the question asked, his symbol (X or O) lit up on the playing field. The category was thus filled and an amount was added to the jackpot - depending on the difficulty of the question. The players had to choose their questions in such a way that, based on the game Tic-Tac-Toe - horizontally, vertically or diagonally - a row of three identical symbols (XXX or OOO) was created. However, the questions in the middle were harder to answer. The winner got one round, the loser received one as a consolation prizeCuckoo clock .

Others

The moderator Fritz Benscher did not take the rules of the game too seriously. He was more concerned with the entertainment value, which he promoted with puns and loose slogans.
