Tiger Island (literally translated from English Tiger Island ) is an island up to 440 m high off the Scott coast of East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located 6 km north of Lion Island in the northern part of Granite Harbor .
A New Zealand team of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) set up a surveying station here in October 1957 and named the island based on the name of Lion Island.
