Tillman Thomas (born June 13, 1945 in Hermitage, Grenada ) is a Grenada politician and chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Career

Thomas was imprisoned for two years under Maurice Bishop . He was one of the co-founders of the NDC in 1987 and was deputy party chairman until 1990, and has been party chairman since 2000. 1984–1990 and 2003–2013 he was a member of parliament. 1984–1990 he was junior minister in the Ministry of Justice, then until 1999 junior minister in the ministry of labor, then until 2003 minister for public works and tourism. After the victory of the NDC in the general election on July 8, 2008, he became Prime Minister on July 9, 2008. On May 17, 2012, he also took over the office of Foreign Minister. After the election of his party on February 19, 2013, he was replaced on February 20, 2013 in both offices by Keith Claudius Mitchell of the New National Party (NNP).
