Tillmann Neinhaus

Tillmann Neinhaus (born October 24, 1941 in Berlin ) is a regional politician in the Ruhr area .

Career

Neinhaus attended the Jesuit college in Büren and then studied business administration at the University of Münster . From 1966 to 1968 he was an economic policy advisor at the Economic Council of the CDU Bonn. Since 1968 he has been working in leading positions in the region's chambers of industry and commerce, including Dortmund and Gelsenkirchen, and from 1996 to spring 2011 as managing director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Central Ruhr Area in Bochum.

In the northern Ruhr area (Emscher-Lippe area) he was involved in the establishment of a joint business development agency (Emscher-Lippe Development Agency) and in founding the Gelsenkirchen University of Applied Sciences in the 1980s and 1990s . From 1989 to 1999 he represented the economy in the steering committee of the International Building Exhibition Emscher Park (IBA) and worked closely with its director Karl Ganser .

The state government of North Rhine-Westphalia appointed him to the master plan commission “Tourism in the Ruhr Area” and the expert commission “Tourism”. As deputy chairman of the “Pro Bochum” foundation, he supported the first director of the “ Ruhrtriennale ”, Gerard Mortier , in setting up the festival. Since 1990 he has been a member of the association assembly of the Ruhr Area Municipal Association (KVR) - later the Ruhr Regional Association (RVR), where he was the spokesman for the economy until 2008. From 2007 to the end of 2011, Neinhaus was chairman of the advisory board of the metropolis ruhr GmbH (wmr) economic development agency. In a number of universities and institutes in the Ruhr area he was or is a member of boards of trustees and advisory boards (e.g. Rheinisch-Westfälisches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung , Vice Chairman of the Advisory Board of rubitec GmbH of the Ruhr University Bochum , the Bochum University of Applied Sciences , the University of Witten / Herdecke and Association Pro Ruhr Area ). He is also a member of the board of trustees of the German-Chinese trade association in Düsseldorf.

Awards

  • In 1993, Neinhaus was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his services to structural improvements in the northern Ruhr area .
  • In 2011 he received the Golden Badge of Honor from the IHK Central Ruhr Area.
