history
Tilly Castle and Manor came into the possession of the T'Serclaes patrician family from Brussels in 1448 . The branch of the family resident here has been called T'Serclaes von Tilly ever since . The name became known worldwide through the later imperial general Johann T'Serclaes von Tilly , who was born in the castle in 1559 .
In the course of the Belgian municipal reform of 1977, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into Villers-la-Ville.
