Gorilla tapes
Gorilla Tapes is the name of a British video artist group. John Dovey (* 1955), Gavin Hodge (* 1954) and Tim Morrison (* 1955) met at a video workshop in Luton and founded Gorilla Tapes in 1984 . The group of artists became known for their vicious, political scratch videos .
Video scratching is a form of video editing analogous to the sample and scratch techniques used in hip-hop music. Documentary material that was recorded during Margaret Thatcher 's reign is alienated by gorilla tapes and condensed into a wide variety of collage forms.
