Tim Sweeney (* 1970 's), a computer games - programmers , founder and president of Epic Games , formerly known as Epic MegaGames .

Life

Epic entered the gaming industry with Sweeney's action game ZZT , the company's first game. As Sweeney explained in an interview, the success of ZZT spurred the development of a number of other Epic games, such as Jill of the Jungle .

Sweeney became known for his work on the Unreal Engine , the game engine that was and is used, among other things, in the games of the Unreal series.

By his own admission, Sweeney did not have as much work in the development of Unreal Engine 3 as in previous projects, since he took on the role of technical director. He takes care of the development of the engine and other projects, the contact with the hardware manufacturers and the research and development of future technologies.
