Timbédra , also Timbedgha , Arabic تنبدغة, is the third largest city of the administrative unit Hodh Ech Chargui in the southeast of the West African state of Mauritania .

The small market center is on the Route de l'Espoir , the only asphalt road to cross the country west-east, between Ayoûn el-Atroûs (280 kilometers in the west) and Néma (110 kilometers in the east).

The city's population was 5,300 in 1977 and has risen sharply in recent decades. In 2005, the city's population was estimated at 23,762. In 2005 it was on the list of the largest cities in Mauritania at position 18 and was the third largest city in Hodh Ech Chargui after Adel Bagrou and Boû Gâdoûm and well ahead of the capital Néma .
