Time Horizon
Time Horizon ( horizon ) is an installation by the artist Antony Gormley . It consists of 100 iron figures, which were designed after the body of Gormley and were set up from June 25 to October 8, 2006 in the Parco Archeologico di Scolacium in Borgia .
plant
The 100 figures were placed in the Archaeological Park of Scolacium on the edge of an olive grove. They were distributed throughout the archaeological area of the forum, the main square of the Colonia Minervia Scolacium, and were also placed in the olive grove. They were located at different heights, so that a continuous height of 1.80 m above the horizontal plane of the excavated forum was reached. This is the mean value of today's height of the earth's surface, to the height of the ancient forum. The figures looked in all directions, but never at another figure.
It was the second exhibition in the Parco Archeologico di Scolacium to be held as part of the Intersezioni (“Intersections”) campaign, with the aim of relating the relationship between archaeological heritage and contemporary art.
