Timelaea albescens is occurring in Asia Butterfly ( butterfly ) from the family of Nymphalidae (Nymphalidae).

The moths reach an average wingspan of 50 millimeters. There is no sexual dimorphism . In both sexes, the wing base color is yellow-brown to orange-brown. The top of all wings is marked with a multitude of black dots. In English usage which is kind of why a Beautiful Leopard (Beautiful Leopard called). The discal region of the hind wings is lightened whitish. The underside of the wing depicts the drawing of the upper side in a slightly weakened form.
Caterpillar
The nudibranch-shaped, light green caterpillars are equipped with two black, branched, prickly horns, which they use to defend themselves against predators. They also have a forked abdomen end.
Similar species
Timelaea maculata lacks the whitish brightening in the discal region of the hind wings.
distribution and habitat
Timelaea albescens occurs in southeast China and Taiwan . Five subspecies are currently listed . The species colonizes different habitats in the temperate zone, as long as the food plant of the caterpillars is represented.
Way of life
The moths fly in several generations, mainly in April, July and October. The caterpillars feed on the leaves of hackberry trees ( Celtis ), for example Celtis formosana or Celtis sinensis . Details on the species' way of life have yet to be researched.
