Timomachus (strategist)

Timomachos ( Greek Τιμόμαχος Timómachos ) was an Athenian from Acharnai . He was a strategist in Athens on several occasions . 366 BC He let Epameinondas pass unhindered the Oneion Mountains. 361 BC He commanded a squadron in front of the Chersonesos . Here he called on his brother-in-law, Callistratus from Methone , who was actually in exile. After Kotys took Sestos , Timomachus was born in 360 BC. BC by Apollodorus in an ice angel trial for alleged treason and sentenced to death. He was able to flee Athens before execution.
