The Tyrolean Garden is part of the park of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna. The area is also known as the Tirolerhof .

history

In 1803, Archduke Johann von Österreich (1782–1852) built a Tyrolean farmhouse in the castle park on the hill on which the Gloriette stands in the center . He ran a small cattle farm and laid out an alpine garden. After the end of the monarchy, the farm became a popular excursion inn. In 1984 the dilapidated buildings were demolished.

In 1994 the hereditary farm of the Neuhauser family from Brandenberg in Tyrol, which has been under monument protection since 1986, was set up in the Tyrolean Garden. There has been a restaurant there since 1997.

The Tiroler Gasse in the 13th district of Hietzing was named before 1859 after the Tirolergarten, towards which the alley runs eastward towards the park.
